The Knights, an oil man and a professor, split time between the city and their ranch. They wanted this home, in the cultural center of Houston, to be a sophisticated, modern city dwelling to contrast the Victorian home they had built on the ranch. Living areas are opened up to take advantage of views, and passage to the Master bedroom and through the office are spacious, again opening to views of the downtown skyline. A graceful curved ceiling is painted a light blue borrowed from Vercace china displayed in the contemporary china cabinet. Clear maple floors and cream colored walls provide a continuity throughout the home which flows smoothly from the master to the guest suite at opposite ends of the space. |
